Our plans for a "Camp Trial Run" evening campout was spoiled by the potential of severe weather that ended up delaying its arrival until late in the night -- but we compromised and had an unofficial YW Sleepover and had a blast!  Bethany and Jasmine made a fun camping cake to celebrate Lizzie's birthday and we all enjoyed cake and ice cream!

Happy Birthday Lizzie!!  We will miss you in the Beehives!

 There was lots of "Ultimate Hide and Seek", "Ghosts in the Graveyard", "Truth or Truth until 5am, and lots of "When I'm Gone" cup slappin' and singing!

 We had tons of fun doing the cup thing-a-ma-jig rouine!

Even Sister Richardson learned to do it!!!

I have missed you tons!  I am excited to be back with you this coming Sunday! It is almost time for camp -- 22 more days!!! A few items for y'all:

1.  This Wednesday, May 22nd:  Camp Activity -- 7pm at the church.

2.  Sunday, May 26th, Beehives Sunday Lesson: 
"Why is it important to study the scriptures?"  

I would like you girls to do 3 things in preparation for our lesson:

LEADER: who's excited to be at camp?!

ALL: groan!!! 

JASMINE: I'm scared! I hate the smell of sulpher!

REBECCA: and what if there are spiders in our tent?!?

ALL: eeeeeeeew!

JADE: oh, come on! think positive!

MARYANNE: yeah, instead of talking about it, let's sing!

CLARA: What?! No, I don't think we need to sing aaa----

LIZZIE:  No, this gonna be great!!

"everything sounds nicer when you sing!

when you sing, when you sing, when you sing!

as long as it sounds pretty you can sing

icky things, nasty things, spooky things!"

BETHANY: "you can be happy when it's boiling outdoors!

you can even tell your tentmate that she snores!"

HANNAH B: "youuuu snore!" (sing it)

RACHEL: yeah???, OK!!

KASSIDY: here, let me try!

"there is a spider in your bed,

and it will probably eat your head!"

there now, doesn't that sound better?

ALL: yeah!

MICAH: you can break all kinds of things to people! for example:

"you've been in bathing in sulpher water,

and now you smell just like an otter!"

NIA: oh, but that reminds me of another thing: Raccoons!

ALL: (squealing!!)  RACOOOOONS!!!

AMELIA: how about this:

"the raccoon that bit you just had babies,

and by the way, you might have rabies!"

ALL: okay!

ANNALIECE: I've got one!

"my hot dog is burnt,

and now it tastes like dirt!"

ALL GIRLS: (pause.) "....YAYYYY!"

ASHLEY:  OK, My turn!!

"i've got a poison ivy rash,

and my running shoes smell like trash!"

VERONICA: “Hey, listen to this one!”

"My flip flop snapped, i need a nap, and there's no cell reception, so much walking, please stop talking, singing's the only exception,"

VERONICA:  READY GIRLS????

ALL: (turn to your left and put left hand on shoulder of girl in front of you

"Camp Tilden girls they sang as they walked, and walked, and walked, aaaaaaaaaaand fainted!"

ALL GIRSL:

VIVIAN:  don't stay up late

SARENA:  always hydrate …..

GIRLS' CAMP 2013: May 1st assignment follow-up

We are just 38 days away from camp!!!

I am so excited!!!!!

We had a great activity this week and I just wanted to remind  you of your "assignments" to be working on ........

1.  Practice your part of the skit.  The skit will be listed as a separate post.  Look on the side bar under the posts and find the skit.

2.  Practice the cheer!!!  

3.  Think of a smallish type of "construction zone" instrument that you can play during our cheer!

4.  Start packing for camp!!!  Find your tote bucket from last year, find your camping list, and start putting things inside.

5.  Find your camp manual and put it in your tote bucket!!!!

6.  Think of some creative names for your "tent crew."

7.  Think of some ideas for "random acts of kindness" that you can do for other tents and that we can do for other wards at camp.

8.  Keep getting excited for a great camp!!!
